ICYMI: MoveOn’s Rahna Epting: ‘No Labels’ Third-Party Fantasy May Elect Trump’
Washington, D.C. – MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting penned an opinion piece in MSNBC with Third Way’s Executive Vice President Matt Bennett outlining how high the stakes are to stop No Labels and get to the bottom of who is bankrolling their dangerous third-party efforts. As reported by Axios, MoveOn and Third Way are also calling on lawmakers to join the growing list of Democratic leaders who have publicly denounced No Labels.
“It’s hard to imagine how the No Labels plan could be more favorable to Republicans if it were run by the Republican National Committee itself. While we were among the first to sound the alarm among Democrats, centrists and anti-Trump Republicans, many others have joined the chorus insisting that No Labels’ third-party bid will divide the pro-democracy coalition that defeated Trump last time,” said MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting and Third Way Executive Vice President Matt Bennett. “The relative silence from Republicans about this effort is not complacency; it is strategy. For them, the more distractions, early damage and potential general election difficulties No Labels causes Biden, the better.”
